On this journey through southwest Madeira, we trade the fast pace for the calm of fishing villages, the traffic on coastal roads, and the crowds for viewpoints where only the wind and the sea can be heard. A walk takes you along a coastline full of surprises: from imposing cliffs to roadside waterfalls, from hidden beaches to villages that keep Madeiran tradition alive. There's also time to take the cable car down to a secret corner of the island, where the sea meets cultivated terraces—one of our favorite spots for lunch with a view. Along the way, discover local secrets, feel the changing landscape, and enjoy views that challenge your balance. The day ends (or almost ends) at one end of the island, where the sun seems more golden and the silence more profound.
